City Clerk

The office of the City Clerk Office is committed to open public government and to serving you. Its mission is to facilitate communication, information sharing and participation by citizens in municipal government, while providing a necessary link between the legislative and administrative functions of the city.

The City Clerk:

  • Provides administrative support for the Mayor, City Council and City Administrator
  • Prepares Public Notification of Special and Regular City Council meetings
  • Prepares City Council Meeting Minutes
  • Facilitates Compliance with the Open Public Meeting laws
  • Acts as the City's Public Records Officer (PRO)
  • Oversees City Contracts and Interlocal Agreements
  • Serves as Liaison to Whatcom County Concerning Elections and Council Oaths of Office
