Overview
Lynden City Council is a seven-member elected board responsible for the legislative function of the city. Members of City Council serve a four-year term, with elections conducted every two years allowing for staggered terms. The City of Lynden council positions are "at large" and do not represent a specific district.

Council Meetings
Council meetings are held at 7 pm on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month excluding Monday holidays. When there is a holiday, the meeting is held on the following Tuesday evening at the City Hall Annex, 205 4th Street, Lynden.
Council meetings are open public meeting. A scheduled portion of the meeting is reserved for citizen comments. The time allowed to speak is four minutes and is limited to those items not scheduled as a public hearing item on the agenda. Your attendance and input are welcomed.
Special council meetings may be called to conduct business for a specific purpose. These meeting are open public meetings and will be noticed at least 24-hours in advance. Notifications is provided to the Lynden Tribune, Bellingham Herald and KGMI radio. A notice of the meeting is also posted on the City's website and at the City Hall Annex building. The location for special council meetings may vary but are usually held at the City Hall Annex building located at 205 4th Street.
Hearing assistance equipment is available for use by the hearing impaired at council meetings. Please contact the City Clerk at 360-255-7085 to arrange for accommodation.
